We started to build our garden in march. We wanted a nice little herb garden and convenient raised beds. We already had a small raised bed with rhubarbs and strawberries, and had also previously used pallet rims for a temporary compost.. but this time, we wanted somthing more solid. And since we are lazy gardeners, a self watering wicking bed seemed like the perfect solution. I will come back to the wicking part in a later post. The plan for our kitchen garden was simple.
1. Remove a part of the lawn
2. Cover the ground with a cloth
3. Build raised beds and stone framing for the herb garden
4. Cover up ground with a nice macadam
