Planting Asparagus Crowns

Asparagus is a perennial plant. Investing a few minutes in planting and showing patience the first 2-3 seasons of limited harvesting seemed to be the perfect deal for us lazy gardeners. We planted 5 asparagus crowns in a raised stone bed. After letting them soak in water for an hour – it only took us a few minutes to plant them. (I have a feeling that we planted them a little to close.. but we hope they will be fine.) Now we just wait and hope for a great harvest for many years. Any tips on how to boost the harvest from fellow asparagus growers?
