I love the concept of regrowing food! Starting my “regrowing red onion from kitchen scraps” experiment today. I’ll keep you posted — have any of you tried this before?

This is what I’ve done so far:
- Save a red onion “bottom” from your kitchen scraps. Let it dry for a few days before planting.
- Take a pot, about half full with soil.
- Water.
- Place the onion bottom in the pot.
- Cover with about 2cm of soil. Water again.
And now we wait. I plan to dig them up and separate the small bulbs once they’ve started to sprout, then replant them at their final growing spot. Give me your tips if you’ve tried this before!
